Today 2i Rete Gas S.p.A. and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a 15-year 200 million Euro loan agreement for the financing of the smart metering project.
The project is part of the company’s on-going investment programme to upgrade and expand its gas distribution networks in its numerous geographically dispersed concession areas located all over Italy.
The project scope comprises the installation of gas smart meters and the related new communication networks as well as the necessary information management system to communicate readings and commands via the networks aligned with the requirements of the relevant regulatory framework.
